The window sill outside the Save the Children charity shop in Windermere gives a glorious, (if slightly distorted by its proximity), view of this composition. It's not the restaurant function but the complicated architectural massing and the street-level shadows which appealed (though we did eat there later). Framing the view I wanted in my hands told me the proportion was 2:1 and the large chimney would be bang centre, on my sketch book's spine so I moved it to one side; the wrong side as it turned out because the street-scape to the right had more interest. At such close quarters I've had to correct the perspective to the third vanishing point in the sky. Fine liner, 6B Pilot Croquis & torchon.
