You're a fine craftsman Brian. Terrific work.

On the spot paintings have this lovely freshness, as does this one. Like it.

Sorry, bad typing, Brian!

I think this is splendid in every way

Super job Brian, as you say no problem with the greens! This makes me want to know what they are looking at off to the right of the painting.

This plein air line and wash was done one summer evening with my Thursday night watercolour group. Most of the session was taken up with a brief intro' on composition to optimise our location, with some thumbnail tonal sketches to explain, followed by touring around giving 1:1 on whatever issues their work raised. But I managed this in the last half hour of the session, lashed out in ink first to expedite things. We had a group crit afterwards of all the work produced. Issues in mine included; seeing values clearly, making white paper work for you, and mixing greens of different colour temperatures and purity. I use a twelve colour Sketchers Box most of the time with my own colour choices. Space is precious so I don't carry a green of any sort, any more than I would carry any secondary colour, but I do have four blues, 2 warm/2 cool, plus warm & cool yellows and four earths, so my green options are unlimited.
