A beautiful painting, Brian! You have captured the feeling of that part of the Lake District so well!

It's a stunner Brian. I really like the depth you've created and the colours used

Thank you very much indeed, David and Heather, for the generous comments. Much appreciated. The water is showing blue, when it is actually more of a middle turquoise. Consequently, the rocks and water look the same colour (ish). I think I'll drop a hint of brown into the rocks. Best to both Bri

Good to see you posting again Bri. I see what you mean about the rocks and they might benefit from a little addition of brown, but otherwise a lovely landscape up to your usual excellent standard!

A fantastic painting Brian. Great detail and use of colours. Definitely reminiscent of the Lake District.

Thank you very much, Tessa and Spencer, for the highly encouraging comments, Appreciated, as always. I've taken a "detail" photograph of the rocks and water, Tessa, which I'll post soon to highlight the difference. I'll probably adjust the water, if necessary, because it will hopefully be less difficult. (smile) Best to both Bri

Yes, I love the full painting as well!

Well this is lovely . Instantly recognisable as the lakes. Great depth. I don't see a problem with the rocks. Beautiful tranquil scene.

Thank you, Val, for a second visit to this painting. I appreciate the comments very much indeed. Thanks, Pauline, for a thoughtful visit. I appreciate the comments but especially your comment about the rocks. In the event I added a touch more turquoise to help separate the lake colour from that of the rocks. Delighted you liked. Best to both Bri

So nicely painted, Bri! Lovely landscape with beautiful details. Love it!

Thanks for the great comments, Manoj. Very much appreciated. Bri

A refreshing scene with lovely treatment of light and colour. It has a lovely summery, glow about it Brian.

Thank you very much, Carole, for the kind comments. Delighted you liked this part of the beautiful Lake District. Wasdale is a glorious valley with tremendous views from the surrounding fells. Bri

Spectacular. I've never been to the Lake District, it looks glorious. Splendid work.

Thank you very much, Lew, for the great comments. Appreciated. They say the only time the Lake District is frustrating is when it's foggy. "They" clearly haven't struggled to find an elusive path from the fell (mountain) tops to the valley floor. (smile) Delighted you liked Bri

Brian you always capture that special atmosphere pertaining to this beautiful part of the UK. Haven't been for a couple of years due to you know what but hoping to go in September. Viewing this makes me realise just how much I miss the place!

Thank you very much, Russell, for the great visit and kind comments. Appreciated. Yes, I must admit I miss it too but hopefully we'll be heading for the Lakes before summer's done. Pleased the painting evoked such pleasant memories. Best Bri

Oil on canvas board,50 x 40 cm's One of my favourite trio of mountains, to be found at the head of Wast Water in the Lake District, Cumbria. From left to right you have Yewbarrow, Great Gable and the lower slopes of Lingmell. The golden scene is set in autumn.
