Beautiful painting Brian

Thank you very much, Dennis, for the kind comments. Much appreciated. Bri

Lovely scene Alan. Hope you're more successful than I've been today - I started another ( set up a colourful and "simple" still life ), really enjoyed myself for about 2 hours, " this is going well" I thought. Didn't have a break, started to fiddle, paint went on and came off, now have a headache! Painting is awful! Time to clean up and have a break.....why is it that some days just don't work? You'd think by now I would have the answer.😩 You don't need to reply Brian, I just needed to "vent".

Ha ha - Brian ( Alan!), I was clearing away and I couldn't resist...used a finger on the pot and am much happier. Shouldn't have written the above, oh, the angst of the "artist"!

Easy mistake to make, Marjorie. Nee botha! The angst of the artist is a blight at times but it keeps us going back. I've got a bit of glare on this photo, which is masking the colours a bit. They're stronger than showing but at least you get a reasonable impression. I'll try again later if I can get a better image. Thanks for the encouraging comment btw. I'm attempting to cover all six ponds and will hopefully improve as I go. That's two down, four to go. *smile* Bri

An absolute stunner Brian. Love the rich blues in the foreground, the reflections and the Autumn trees.

Wow! Carole!! Thank you very much for the super comments. I'm absolutely delighted you like this painting because I've four more in the offing. LOL Much appreciated. Bri

Fantastic painting Brian. Thank you for posting this. The reflections, eddys and light the lake are amazing. Each time I look at it there's something new to enjoy and admire. Hope you post the others you have mentioned.

Thank you very much, Glyn, for the very kind and generous review. Much appreciated. I've already posted the first one, a few days ago, called "Angling for Clouds". It's such a peaceful area to walk and observe, and the angling's pretty good too, from what I've read. Bri

Another beautiful painting Brian, illustrating your superlative skill

Thank you very much, Russell, for the kind and generous comments. Much appreciated, as always. I knew of this place but had always assumed it was private and for anglers only. My mistake because it's open to the general public with free car parking to boot. It has six beautiful small lakes/ponds and a number of nature trails to follow. Bri

This is another beautiful painting Bri, I'm liking this series very much. The spectacular colours and your reflections make for a very lovely piece of work. I seem to be having a bit of a break from any art work! Can't seem to settle with anything and everything I start goes in the bin. Perhaps it's this horrible start of winter, I'm sure everyone goes through this at some point. I must try again over the weekend!

Thank you very much, Margaret, for the very kind and generous comments. Always appreciated. I'm delighted you like this series because it took me by surprise when I first stumbled across so many lovely images. They are all surrounded by woodland and as a consequence the pond surface is barely disturbed by the wind, giving some marvellously clear reflections. I know how you feel when it comes to the dreaded block. Sometimes it's good to take a break and wait for the right moment. Every time I feel that way it's nearly always because I'm tired and a bit under the weather. A good nights sleep and a good meal seems to work for me. That and getting out and about. I think most people will understand where you're coming from. Good luck with your art this weekend and hopefully you'll produce a masterpiece. *smile* Bri

This is gorgeous Brian! The surface of the water is glorious.

Thank you very much, Margaret, for the super comments. Very much appreciated. I'm currently trying to find the best size for these paintings, and am currently finishing a smaller version of the same place, but a different pond. (one of six ponds). I think the bigger versions are winning by a short head. *smile* Bri

Oil on canvas, 40 x 30 cms, wet in wet, alla prima. Another angling pond from the nature reserve, from some photos I took last week. There are six ponds in total but only three of them seem to have angling rights. This is my second effort and I'm going to start another later today. (small one)
