A real eye catcher, Brian. Very atmospheric and beautifully painted. I like the building and the reflections on the water.

Thank you very much, Kia, for the generous comments. Much appreciated. Bri

Brian that's so good, the way you have handled that light is brilliant to say the least, I have done a night scene of the Kelpies in Scotland and I know from experience it's hard getting the lighting just right when it's dark, so well done you for a great job, your son should be well pleased, 👍😀

This is so majestic Brian. All those intricate details must have taken you lots of patience and time. Love the way you have broken up the dark sky with the pin pricks of light and those lovely golden reflections on the water. Your son must be over the moon Brian.

Credit to you Brian for taking this on! I would have had a go but obviously my style is looser and probably easier to paint. Great job anyway, just enough detail without getting ridiculous!

This iconic Beautiful building is beautifully painted very neatly snd skillfully.

Almost photographic Brian. Lovely work.

As Mia has said, a great eye-catcher, great work Brian.

You have caught the light beautifully, very well painted.

An epic task Brian but what a superb result.

Thank you very much indeed, Linda, Carole, Alan, Yoko, Jim, Heather, Caroline, Fred and Fiona for the amazing comments and feedback. Deeply appreciated. The Kelpies at night are a spectacle, are they not, Linda. They would be difficult to get right, I should think. Yes, he was moon bound when I showed him the finished article, Carole. *smile* I looked at a couple of looser versions of this scene, Alan, and they had more mystique about them, I thought. I might try a looser version later. Iconic indeed, Yoko. He said it was worth staying on the Buda side of the river just to get this view. Cheers, Jim. I knew he'd want a realistic version but part of me wanted to loosen up a bit. Big ask for me. *grin* "Eye-catcher" does it for me, Heather. "Impressive" is very kind, Caroline. The light was the biggest task, after the initial drawing, Fred. The final layer gave the painting a lift. Ah, Fiona! I was fed up before the end but kept going. I fell over my own feet a week or so ago and badly bruised my ribs and head when I hit the kerb. When I eventually returned to the real world I found my interest renewed. Delighted you liked the result. Best to all and thanks again. Bri

Very good image of Budapest!!!

Brian, I’m sorry to hear of your accident, I hope you are back to full strength with a clear head.

Thank you very much, Judit, for the kind comments. Much appreciated. Bri Yes, I'm fine now, Fiona, if still a little sore around the ribs. I can sleep properly again and that's one great relief, probably accounting for my renewed vigour. Very kind of you to ask. Bri

Lovely atmospheric painting Brian.

Thank you very much for the kind comments, Margaret. Much appreciated. I nearly missed this comment so I'm sorry if my response seems a little tardy. *smile* Best Bri

Fabulous Brian. Seriously impressive. You must have a steady hand to put such intricate detail in. 😀 I love the reflection on the water too. Great stuff 😀👍

Oil on canvas board, 51 x 31 cms. This was painted from a photo taken by my son when he visited Budapest for a city break. It shows the Hungarian parliament building from the banks of the Danube, with a pleasure cruiser sailing by. He sent me the pic and said "Can you paint this, dad"? You'd think he was asking for a packet of crisps. Anyway, this is the result and no doubt I'll tinker with it some more at some point in time. Took me an age to paint. Wet in wet initially, then wet on dry.
