Love those strong, dramatic, diagonals Brian. Your palette is wonderfully natural and the sun rays give this painting an extra oomph.

Absolutely superb Bri, you have an obvious affinity with this outstandingly beautiful area. My wife and I were at Castlerigg Stone Circle earlier today and your paintings sprang to mind immediately, huge fan of your work.

Thank you very much indeed Carole and Russell for the amazing comments. Nearly fell off me chair, I did. I'm so pleased the palette is ok, Carole, because the original was more intense. Great to see you noticed the diagonals btw, just great. I do really like this area, Russell, more than I can say, actually. Every time we spot the fells from the M6, as we approach the Lake District junction, We both smile and make some comment about the beauty etc. Great to read of your trip to Castlerigg and I'm chuffed to bits that you thought of my work, floored if truth be known. Best to both Bri

Stunning, I love the sun beams, or stairs to heaven as I have always called them.

Absolutely fantastic Brain!

A delight. A beautiful sweeping vista. So much to enjoy.

Thank you very much, Jen, Tanusree and Lew, for the highly encouraging comments. Much appreciated. This area is so special that I still struggle to believe it's only an hour's drive away. It has that timeless quality that always seems to remain constant. You could quite literally be in any century you choose to mention. Best to all Bri

Brilliant use of colours Brian 👍👍👍

Beautiful depiction of Honister Pass. I’ve driven up the M6 many times to visit family and like you the first sight of the fells is wonderful.

Superb Brian, those sunbeams are so natural looking and add something special to this beautiful landscape.

Thank you very much, Linda, Christine and Val, for the lovely comments. Much appreciated. You'd think you were in another country, Christine, when the fells slowly come into view. It's great! Best to all Bri

Sun rays are not easy to achieve but you have managed in this beautiful work.

Wonderful landscape, beautiful rendition of the hillside.

Thank you very much, Sean and Ceri, for the kind comments. I've revised this one even further since posting but the essence of the painting remains the same. Delighted you liked. Bri

Oil on canvas 50 x 40 cms. I've repainted this piece from top to bottom, simply because much of the top half was very shiny due to too much oil in my medium. The only way I could solve the problem was to redo the lot. I also toned the colours down, increased the size of the raven and added some sun beams. Largely wet in wet.
