Great waves Brian lovely technique and what a great body of work in your gallery

very nice Brian feel like running in for a dip

Thank you very much, Dennis and Dennis, for the warm comments. Very much appreciated. Ah, you popped into my gallery, Dennis (Rounding). Thanks for letting me know because I was so pleased you mentioned it and delighted you enjoyed the trip. *smile* Hey Dennis (Roberts)! The North Sea is cold enough to freeze a polar bear's vitals. We used to swim here, emerging from the sea a lovely shade of cobalt blue. *grin* Best to both Brian

Lo,ta of thundering waves, great movement Brian, the sky is good too.

Sorry, 'lots of' ! Predictive text again!

That's a great image, Brian.

Thank you very much, Carole and Lewis, for the encouraging comments. Much appreciated. I'm pleased you explained your first post, Carole; I thought I was missing something when I couldn't figure out what "Lo, ta" meant. *LOL* My original intention was to have a kittiwake struggling against the wind in the foreground, bustled feathers and all. However, I remain undecided, just for a change, and will wait before making the final decision. I like the idea but wonder about a white bird on a light background. It could be placed high up, I suppose. The Common Shag, which is a type of cormorant, is a resident of Marsden Bay and looks particularly sleek in flight. It has the added advantage of sporting dark plumage, almost black in fact. So that's a possibility. The idea of adding some highlights to the gulls flying near the rocks is appealing. Anyway, I'm rambling again and will leave it there. *smile* Best to both Brian

I love the movement in this painting - very dramatic waves.

Thanks Clare for dropping in to comment. Very much appreciated. I'm delighted you mentioned the drama, quite literally generated by the waves. Their power is something to see and hear, the kind of thing that makes you stop to look. I was born here and never cease to be amazed by the persistence of the sea. Brian

I'm a big fan of your seascapes Brian and this is no exception, I can almost hear those waves thundering into shore. Beautiful!

Wild waves - feel it - great

Very effective surf, waves and water, Brian. Sky works well against the sea colours.

You’ve captured the energy Brian. I can hear the ‘hiss & swish” of the waves coming up the beach and the thunder of the surf hitting the rock. Marvellous!

Thanks for the lovely comments, Margaret. I smiled when I read them. Very much appreciated. Brian

Thanks you very much, Maureen, Pat and Fiona, for the super comments. Appreciated. Maureen! Wild is just about right. They crashed onto the rocks with an unbridled ferocity. Delighted you mentioned the sky, Pat. The motionless sky contrasts nicely with the raging sea. That was exactly how I felt when I stopped to look, Fiona. As first witness I can honestly say it was a pleasure to observe and contemplate; yes, the sounds, ah, the sounds. *smile* Best to all Brian

I can feel the wind & spray!

This is another painting of Trow Rock, or the tip of it, near Sandhaven Beach (The Beach) at South Shields. The photo for this painting was taken on the same day as my last Trow Rock Painting but this one is bigger, 50 x 40 cms. The waves were crashing in and were unusually high for the time of year. I was so pleased I had my camera with me.
