Rolling waves and seagulls, perfect Brian. Nice work.

Wow, that was quick. Thank you very much, Jim, for the great reply. Appreciated. I could look at the sea all day long. Bri

So nostalgic when I look at this. The waves, the seagulls, the salty air and those rocks, just like home. I’ve been away awhile and feel a little bit homesick. Love the way you’ve done the waves Brian. Nice and gentle. I tend to go a bit over the top with waves as that’s the only way I know how to paint them. Haven’t done a seascape in ages you have inspired me to have a go.

Splendid work as ever, Brian. I guess it's a lifetimes work painting the sea...ever changing. Super.

Ah, I also miss the grey North Sea, Carole. It's one of the reasons I started painting my South Shields series, so I could nip home whenever the moment took me. I have a few photos of the Three Sisters, Trow Point. They're a row of four huge rocks in the sea. One of the sisters split in two. Anyway, the waves are crashing over the top of them, so I'll give them a go. Pleased this gave you a moment to reflect, and thank you very much for the comments. Bri

It is indeed, Lewis. I'm already planning my next one. Actually, I have two near completed paintings on the easel; one of the Lake District, the other is the last in my angling pond series. Lakes, seas, and mountains. Love them! Thank you for the generous comments. Always appreciated. Bri

Thank you very much, Maureen, for your kind comments. I appreciate it very much. Bri

Wow Bri this is beautiful, I love the gentle waves and your colours, the sky is gorgeous too. Makes me want the summer to hurry up and come! I showed it to hubby who loved it too and commented that it made him feel he was sitting on the beach watching the waves!

What a lovely surprise this morning, Margaret. Thank you very much indeed for the great comments. Much appreciated. I was delighted your husband felt like he was sitting at the beach. Say thanks for me, and let him know it put a smile on my face. (please) Bri

I'm sure your friend will love it, love the waves, makes you feel like dipping your feet in there except it's the North sea so it'll be bracing!!! 😂

Beauty, would like to be there Brian.

Thank you very much, Linda and Carole, for the very encouraging comments. Always appreciated. Yes, it will certainly be bracing, Linda, as you know from experience. It's the only place I know where the sea actually numbs your feet and legs, once you've managed to get through the pain barrier. Bri

Oh roll on summer! That's gorgeous Brian I can smell the ozone.

Thank you very much, Val, for the warm comments. (summer pun) *smile* Roll on indeed! Delighted you liked. Bri

I too love the sea and unfortunately live over a hundred miles away from the show so any opportunity to drive that way and stay is a treat. Your painting captures the lovely rollers coming in as well as the sea life with gulls flying over the breaking waves and rocks. Well done!

Thank you very much, Paul, for the generous comments. Much appreciated. I know this part of the world very well and used to swim from these rocks, as a child, years ago. I wouldn't go much past a paddle these days. Bri

Oil on canvas board 406 x 305 mms (Winsor & Newton). This is the first time I've used board for anything and I really like it. This shows a flurry of gulls as the tide surges at Trow Rock, South Shields. It's for a very good friend, so I hope he likes it. I also hope he remembers because he was popped up (drunk) at the time. *lol* Wet in wet but not alla prima.
