Biography

After being consistently rubbish in Art at school it was 40 years before picking up a paintbrush again and realising how painting can be such fun to do with others and meditative to do at home – not the teenage experience of trying to appease a weird and very scary art teacher. I enjoy watercolour, as much for its unpredictability and independence as for any great masterpieces to emerge. Recent art holidays have introduced me to Pen & Wash techniques and also to taking a sketchbook when out walking. Moreover it is a real joy to browse the artwork of others on this site and to marvel at the lovely loose colourful impressionist styles of such talented artists.
