Brian this is so idyllic. The movement of the birds and the shadow of the palm tree in the water give the painting an authentic feel. I also like the way the graduation of the sand in the ocean. Great.

Wow! That was quick, Carole. Thank you very much for the kind and encouraging comments. I nearly didn't post this one, mainly because the camera hasn't really caught the turquoise water very well. Still, it gives a reasonable impression. It might be a bit out of focus. Bri

I have been to the Caribbean and it's just like this, pure paradise in fact. Well captured Brian and the addition of the birds just topped it off nicely.

I don't think we are seeing it at it's best maybe re post with better photo and it should be great, Brian

The colours look fine on my mobile Brian, it's a lovely idyllic setting and the addition of the birds just finishes it off. 😀

Thank you very much, Alan and Ronald, for the kind comments. Appreciated. Pleased it caught something of that tropical flavour, Alan. Thanks for that. I've changed the pic, Ronald, for a clearer version with better colours. That's about as close as I'll get methinks. There's still a bit of "noise" on the photo but hey ho. *smile* Bri

Thank you very much, Linda, for the encouraging response to the colours. I've posted a better photo (just took it in better light) and it's closer to the original painting. The smaller version on POL Gallery front page is very close btw. I'm delighted the setting looks the part because it's always difficult to know. Bri

A tropical dream isle Brian, unmarked by a single footprint. Idyllic. Nice work.

Another cracker, Brian. Very fine indeed, I'd like to be there.

Brian, I want to go there! It looks wonderful, you have depicted the water so well, it looks like paradise!

It’s lovely Brian, so tranquil and beautiful water 👍🏻

Thank you very much, Jim, Lew and Margaret for the great comments. Always appreciated. I think a touch more phthalo green or viridian in the water would give this a lift but I'm not sure. I have a tube of viridian that I never use. *smile* Best to all Bri

Oops, you were just over the page, Rachel. Thank you for the encouraging response to this tropical beach. Appreciated. Bri

This is an oil on canvas, 40 x 30 cms painting. I painted this for the fun of it and felt totally out of my comfort zone, never having been to anywhere remotely tropical. Neverthelees, I wanted to try and capture a touch of Robinson Crusoe and this is the result (more or less, given the weak colours thrown up by my camera). I added a couple of parrots/parakeets to help it to move away from that brochure feel.
