Thanks, Fiona, for the kind comments. You must give portraiture a bash, it's great fun. My first attempts were barely recognisable but I stuck at it. I'm still learning and from time to time, to time, I get a reasonable likeness. My first attempts were pencil and they took me an age. I now usually manage to get the basics down within a couple of hours. Depends. Full face is the easiest, at least I think so. Give it a go and choose your medium to suit yourself. My preference is now charcoal and pastel, usually starting with bold strokes/blocks, then refining as I go. Can't do myself btw. LOL Best Brian
