I love the colours too; good blending of pastels; it is rewarding drawing a bird; excellent piece of art.

Soft and very feathery...love your pastel blending...so sensitive Brian

Thank you very much, Brenda and Thalia, for the kind words. Appreciated. It IS rewarding drawing and painting birds, Brenda, you're SO right. I have flocks of them in my paintings. *smile* Thanks to both for mentioning the blending, because I'm very much a novice with pastels, with most things for that matter. lol Best Brian

Well if he's not a Robin he is a very pretty little bird! Excellent blending of pastels Brian, making the painting look so soft, I like the background too!

Thanks a lot, Margaret, for the great review. Appreciated, as always. I was looking for a robin to go with a poem of mine, when I stumbled across this little fella. He caught my attention immediately and so I did a quick google to see what he was and where he lived. He is, of course, a Yellow Robin, with not a robin ancestor in sight. *lol* Pleased the softness was apparent. Best Brian

He’s a very handsome chap. Beautiful colours and that twinkle in his eye brings him to life. Lovely pastel work Brian.

Lovely little bird, beautiful pastel work Brian.

Thanks loads, Fiona and Sandra, for the kind words. Appreciated. Thanks for mentioning the pastel work because I'm relatively new to the medium. Actually, now that I think about it, I submitted a pastel painting for my 'A' Level Art all those years ago and haven't touched them since. I didn't fall out with them or anything, just never got round to using them again. I'm currently using Rembrandt and Unison pastels and they seem to work a treat. (colourwise, that is) Thanks for dropping in. Brian

Beautiful bird. I like the use of your pastel.

Thank you very much, Dorothy. Appreciated. Brian

I was attracted to the colours of this bird, an Australian inhabitant apparently, and decide to give my pastels another outing. I thought it was some kind of kookaburra at first and discovered it isn't a real robin at all. Drawn/painted on A4 sketch paper.
