Thank you very much, Linda, for the great comments. Appreciated, as always. It was the softness that drew my eye initially AND the muted colours. It helped that Derwent Water is one of my favourite lakes, a place I've spent many an hour exploring. I was tempted to place a couple of coots in the foreground but resisted the temptation. Resistance is not futile. *smile* Bri

I’ve never been to the Lake District Brian but seeing your fabulous paintings of the area, makes me want to visit.
