Like the muted colours and honesty of this scene Brian.

Thank you very much, Carole, for the kind comments. Appreciated. There's a bit too much interference with the pic, which I'm struggling to lose, and the camera is SO close for the photo. I'll try to get a better one later on today and will edit accordingly. Bri

Ok, managed to get a much better picture. This is pretty close to how it really looks. Bri

I love the soft colours in this Brian, your trees are beautifully painted and the mountains recede into the background, Linda

Thank you very much, Linda, for the great comments. Appreciated, as always. It was the softness that drew my eye initially AND the muted colours. It helped that Derwent Water is one of my favourite lakes, a place I've spent many an hour exploring. I was tempted to place a couple of coots in the foreground but resisted the temptation. Resistance is not futile. *smile* Bri

I like the misty and mysterious effect with just a glimpse of distant trees, Brian.

Your painting makes me want to melt !! In a nice way!!! it’s so lovely to look at. :))) just beautiful. 👍🏻

Thank you very much, Ronald and Rachel, for the highly encouraging comments. Always appreciated. The mysterious view initially caught my eye as well, Ronald. Thanks for mentioning it. What a wonderful thing to say, Rachel. Nearly fell off me chair again. *lol* Best to both Bri

Early morning mist and dew, lovely painting Brian.

Thank you very much, Stephen and Jennifer, for the kind comments. Appreciated. Bri

Such a beautiful, soft painting Brian, it's gorgeous!

Thank you very much, Margaret, for the lovely comments. I'm delighted you liked it because it's a fairly simple scene, and yet I found it appealing. I'm glad the soft and gentle side came out. Bri

I’ve never been to the Lake District Brian but seeing your fabulous paintings of the area, makes me want to visit.

Thank you very much, Fiona, for the lovely comments. Always appreciated. Interestingly, all my Scottish pals say the Lake District reminds them of the Highlands/Hielands, citing them as a home from home. Having said that, they are from Ayrshire and Edinburgh. Thanks for dropping in, it's always good to see you. Bri

Oil on canvas, 30 x 20 cms. A small painting, attempting to show the romantic side of the Lake District, rather than the dramatic. Nothing wrong with the dramatic btw, in fact there's nowhere better for a dramatic scene, but I felt that the trees almost looked sentient and peaceful when I found this image.
