Really like this one Brian

Sounds like a great title. Great painting.

Very moody, Brian. Get under cover weather. Great stuff.

Wonderful sky, the whole scene is so atmospheric Brian.

Great atmosphere, captured the colour of the sea well

Thank you very much, Maureen, Rachel, Lewis, Carole and Kevin for the encouraging comments. Always appreciated. I'm glad the atmosphere came through and the overall mood of the impending threat. Thanks for that, everyone. Best Brian

I really love your paintings Brian, what a fabulous sky and sea, very atmospheric!

What a lovely thing to say, Margaret. Thank you very much indeed. Brian

I lived across the Minch from the outer Hebrides and remember seeing turbulent cloud and weather formations like this. What skies like this didn’t expel on the Islands, we prepared ourselves to receive....but not gratefully! Lol. A perfect example of that powerful force, you could even imagine that very dark spot in the clouds to be the centre of something devastating.

Beautiful light and shadows, great sky. Yes, good idea for the title.

One threatning sky Brian. Head for home in a hurry. Nice work.

Thanks, Fiona, for the unexpected bonus of finding someone with knowledge of this archipelago. I'm delighted you recognised the scene and that it was familiar to you. Thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated. Brian

Thanks for a nod to the title, Sandra, and thanks for the kind comments. Appreciated. Brian

Thanks, Jim. It was the sky that caught my eye first and I couldn't turn away. The cerulean blue shallows also surprised me, although the colour isn't quite right in this photo of the painting. It's definitely a head for home sort of day. Brian

I missed this and caught it on FB The Artist and LP. Beautiful in its simplicity Brian.

Thank you very much, Marjorie. Really appreciate the comments and I'm delighted you found it, although I'm not at all sure what you mean by "FB The Artist and LP" *smile* Brian

The weather moves in so quickly over the Outer Hebrides that it almost takes you by surprise. The storm clouds can be almost brutal in the way they push the tranquility to one side. I'm thinking about calling this one "Disturbing the peace". It's an oil on canavs 40 x 30cms. I used an acrylic underpainting as a guide and nearly kept it, LOL. The colours are less saturated than the original, due to my iphone 5s. Best I've got, I'm afraid.
