Lovely work Barry , nice figures and the addition of the guy be the no entry sign worked well, as does the red of the sign

A huge success Barry, yes, well balanced with the red blob and that figure.

Beautiful washes Barry, lovely reflections and I like the highlight on the figures.

Thank you David and Alan, I do try and echo the red in this type of scene.

Thank you Carole, I expect the highlights will upset the purists as it's using opaque paint rather than leaving white paper.

Well thought out Barry, the figure leads the viewer into the scene well. The wet road and pavement reflections work well also.

I would hope that the 'white paint' nonsense has largely disappeared, if not it should have. When I went to view some of the Turner sketches at the Tate a while back I was delighted to see his brilliant use of opaque white, if it's good enough for him...

It works so well Barry and figures make it for me.

Very atmospheric

i like your use of white it stands out well which wouldn't with an off white paper Barry.

Thank you Stephen, Derek and Karen, for your lovely comments always love to put in figures.

Exactly the argument I use Alan, although there are several whites in this painting that are the white of the paper.

I actually use a colour called Juane brilliant which I understand is a mixture of white and yellow ochre Carole. It stands out really well.

Very atmospheric Barry - you have captured the rainy conditions so well. Yes, I agree, the man by the sign works very well.

Lovely composition and without too much detail you have managed to convey a rather tricky scene.. Great Barry.

Thank you Adele, Russell, Carole and Jenny for your lovely comments.

Lovely work as ever Barry. Really got the essence of it all.

Lovely atmosphere, Barry.

Yet another street scene this time in the wet. I enjoy these especially if they work, I think I am nearly there on this one. I was struggling until I put the guy by the no entry sign in.
