Excellent subject matter Barry and very well executed. I really like this sort of everyday life paintings, capturing the moment.

Works so well Barry.

Love this Barry and I'm sure that your local barber would as well!

Many thanks Tessa, Stephen and Louise I have tried give the impression that i am painting it in situ even though it is from a photo.

Nice capture of the general scene Barry. Not as easy as it seems to portray actions, pespective, colour and light and shade all together. Nice work.

There's such a fabulous ambience and such great vitality to this piece. Great stuff, Barry!

I love this Barry, I love paintings which depict the world around us and what real people are up to.

Thank you Jim, Seok and Audrey, it’s good that others like this type of subject as well it gives me so much encouragement.

Well I don't think YOU could improve on your watercolour technique. This is just great and I think it has a special quality. It certainly does not look like it has been taken from a photo.

Thank you Val-Irene, I think one of the reasons to use your own photos is that they based on your own experience and that helps give feeling to the scene. In this case I was helping a fellow member of my art club with his technique and as always learnt a bit myself.

Nicely portrayed Barry, great idea.

Thank you Alan and Dennis

You’ve nailed it Barry. Brilliant.

Thank you Chris

I recently visited my local barbers, and asked if I could take a photo as I thought it would make a great subject for a painting. Yesterday at art group I was working with a fellow member and we talked about interiors who is trying to improve his watercolour technique and we decided to give it a go. Mine is probably a little rough and ready as I was spending time with him but that has probably added to it’s charm.
