Always a masterclass in your work. This one seems to be about what is left out.

You have done a cracking job with this piece Alan , I know you admire Hilder and why not so much to learn from his work. While it’s a Hilder type scene it definitely has the Bickley style , excellent example of your skilled pen work.

Excellent as always .

Simplicity at its finest Alan

Love a bit of notalgia

Excellent Alan.

Nice work Alan

A great example of simplifying a scene Alan.

I like the simplicity of this, and the large area of sky seems to work so well.

Always love your style Great composition and just the right amount of accent color

As usual the wide format works very well with these scenes.

Although the excellent buildings dominate, the focal point for me is the tantalising glimpse of river/estuary and hills beyond, right on an intersection of thirds. Brilliant composition.

I love the simplicity.

You always manage your tones and colours so perfectly Alan and the outcome is a perfect painting.

Rowland Hilder territory here with a group of these iconic oast houses and buildings. Watercolour and pen on toned grey paper A4. Hilder is always good for a bit of nostalgia!
