Another good one, Alan! I always love the way you draw and paint the trees!

Superb scene , yes those barns are to good to resist , Hilder was an absolute master at barns and oast houses. I like the palette you have used Alan , gives it that classical appeal.

The shadows are perpendicular to the forms, so well aligned and shows linear with exact definition too. That fine white line draws the eye into the branches , a really intricate and and unique style developing Alan!

Excellent artwork.

Gorgeous painting Alan.

Wonderful scene Alan and the central tree is superb.

Love this bold style.

Another fine piece of work. An example for us all.

Lovely rural painting, the composition draws you in.

Excellent sketch, your sketches remind me of Rolland Hilder. That is a compliment.🙏👌

It’s good to see it again Alan, an example of outstanding draughtsmanship, with perfect balance of tone and colour.

He's done it again; I say... he's done it again. I wish I'd kept my Hilder books, one contained his preferred palette - unlike many watercolourists, he favoured neutral tint, Payne's Grey, and Lamp Black; and ink sometimes, of course. I recognize those barns, and the touches of white to indicate some of the branches; but it's clearly a Bickley.

Excellent. I like the use of white in the big tree and generally another goodie.

This is a superb example Al ……love it!

Love the shadows and fluidity of your brush strokes Alan.

Understated beauty Alan, lovely palette

Really like this one, the wide format does it justice.

Thanks guys always appreciate your support!

Beautiful piece, you capture trees so well.

Good one. Like the Rowland Hilder style very much 👌

Great use of shadow on this one Alan, like it a lot

Watercolour on Ingres mountboard. Not a new one but I haven’t posted it before - around A4 size I’ve used the barns from a Hilder painting, they’re so paintable I couldn’t resist!
