A very productive morning Alan

Thanks Heather… well, 20 minutes or so and enjoyable as always.

Another beauty, Alan!

like this a lot, for me its one of your best. I partially like the addition of the bridge in the background

20 minutes?! I am in awe ...

Loving these Tames sketches Alan , more please sir.

Scribble?! I love it.

Another snatch of brolliance Alan, fabulous boat.

Super sketch Alan. Astonishing for so short a time.

Beautifully executed Alan.

Quite superb Alan.

Love it - the solidity of the boat against the distant buildings behind.

Wonderful scribble Alan.

As usual another nice framable work

Can just feel that cold water!

This is a beautiful Alan - I love this approach to painting- the tones and details are perfect.

Your work is instantly recognisable Alan, those almost lazy washes interspersed with a few lines and minimal detail. Great.

Love your artistic shorthand

A 20 minute scribble, you're just showing off Alan!

Thanks guys much appreciated… well, maybe 25 minutes Russell!

It is impressive to see such a high level of atmospheric clarity in a pocket-sized format, Alan. Your use of watercolor here perfectly captures the shifting morning light of the dockside. The 'touch of pen work' you mentioned is particularly effective; This piece beautifully demonstrates that a quick sketchbook study can hold as much weight and mood as a full-scale studio work.

Great boats on this Alan, and as Martin has said, good idea to put that bridge in the background.
