Great work Alan, beautiful textures and the red magenta in the foreground and in the sky works very well.

Used to enjoy the etching press lovely Alan

Love this style Alan, great colours and I like the amount of white in it.

Superb Alan! Is it all inks? This could be adictive.

Thanks very much for your comments, appreciated as always, Fiona, it is all oil based printing inks, they have far greater luminosity than oil paints , and all forms of printmaking is addictive for me. More to come, just finished another.

What a fantastic result Alan!! I'm envious!

Very attractive piece Alan. You hang on to this press ;)

A very exciting and dramatic piece Alan. The press is definitely worth hanging on to.

Looks stunning, Alan - very dramatic and dynamic. I hope we get to see more!

Thanks everyone again, printmaking is a great way to show creativity, and yes, plenty more to come.

I know nothing about Etching, Alan, only that people get invited to see them sometimes!!! I like the colours you have used though. They make it a dramatic piece indeed. I must read up on this, as I am intrigued !

Thanks J, that wasn't my ulterior motive but I may try that angle!!. This is not an etching but a monotype, far more 'painterly' and expressive and you don't need a press. Dawn has asked me to do a demo on the pol online edition which I will be showing how simple it can be. Do read up on this process and if you have any questions please contact me via a Pm, I will be only too willing to help.

I look forward to your demo Alan;)

Thanks for that, Alan. I look forward to your article. X

Trying out a new etching press that I have just bought, an A4+ which is ideal for small work. I have an A3+ also for the larger work but my daughter's borrow it and I never get to use it, so this little chap is staying put in my studio. Very pleased with the results, it's by the Danish company Polymetaal, JM25 courtesy of Intaglio Printmakers.
