Cracking sketch Alan. Great composition tone and line

Thanks Martin… the ‘soul’ has been knocked out of these once busy working environments, and these great industrial warehouses converted into luxury apartments… This is pre- development…

Like you Alan I’m very fond of the old industrial buildings and we have some excellent examples along out canals . You have captured the feel and be sturdiness of the scene beautifully.

Thanks Paul… better than demolishing them obviously, we don’t have the industry in these cities anymore, and transporting goods by canal would hardly cut it in today’s environment!

Superb sketch, Alan, of an area I know so well.

Very good as always

Excellent sketch Alan. I am very fond of industrial buildings. There is an old tobacco warehouse at the docks being converted.

Great sketch Alan, so much of our industrial heritage has been destroyed in and around the Wrexham area, an act of vandalism in my opinion.

I've spent half my life living near and going to school next to the Worcs and B'ham Canal, so this lovely sketch is bringing back memories.

So good. With all these great sketches you create you must be spoilt for choice when it comes to turning them into paintings.

This series of sketches have been brilliant Alan. I've enjoyed looking at them, they have inspired me to buy some grey toned paper.

Another great sketch

Your industrial architecture sketches are superb Alan.

Very good sketch of these industrial buildings and atmospheric too Alan!

Skillfully put two paper Alan in your usual way.

Super sketch Alan- lovely tones.

Great sketch again Alan, and love your articles in the magazine too

These drawings are excellent Alan - I love the subject.

Near the brilliantly named Gas Street Basin in Birmingham, I’ll draw that next. Pen & wash on Strathmore toned grey paper in my sketchbook.
