Nicely balanced sketch Alan and love the restrained use of colour

Another excellent line and wash Alan , I’m struggling to be as disciplined as you are and sketch each day .

Love the loose style of this and the little touches of colour, especially in those trees.

Usually first thing each morning Paul, 20 minutes at most generally!

Beautifully done Alan. Always eye- catching.

Very skillful artwork.

Lovely work Alan.

A very good sketch for the day Alan

Splendid as ever, Alan. Your 'simple' line and wash is everybody else's 'difficult.' Everything just right.

Excellent drawing skills as always Alan.

Simply terrific Alan.

A charming rural scene - lovely Line and Wash!

A superb sketch Alan!

Another brilliant sketch, Alan.

As always, Alan, excellent work. You are an inspiration.

Beautiful Alan. I love the simplicity of the background hills and touches of autumn colour.

Lovely study.

Captured to a “ t” as always Alan. Now, can someone tell me where that phrase originates?

Lovely work!

Fabulous and simple beauty fibes

Fabulous sketch Alan - almost 3 dimensional.

I like your work, always skillfully done !!

I like that. I wondered what size it is ?

Thanks once again… size is around 5.5 x8.5in, Stillman & Birn Delta which has Ivory pages.

I admire so much control on such a small scale Alan. A typical Kentish scene with a great sense of place.

Brilliant sketch in such a short time, so effective and a lesson in quick sketches and avoiding too much detail. I believe A.Crawshaw endorsed this way of collecting his sketches for working in the studio, I’m curious where you bought this sketching book from Alan. Excellent work as always.

William, many thanks for your support, you can buy these Stillman & Birn sketchbooks from all the main online stores. I believe I bought this one from Amazon. This is the Delta in landscape format around 5.5x8.5in. as i recall! I’ve got several others from S&B, but I like the ivory pages!

Thank you for the info 👍

Lovely, Alan! Very Roland Hilder-ish!

Love the depth!

Love your sketches Alan, agree with Andrew about the little touches of colour.

Continuing my ‘sketch a day’ commitment which I’ve maintained for almost two months now! Simple line and wash study in my Stillman & Birn Delta sketchbook.
