Great view over the cliffs, you certainly have achieved the feeling of great height and wonderful light.

A stunning view Alan, very nice colours.😀

This has got shades of your pen and inks with the particular fine marks Alan - but very interesting to examine. I like your intuitive colour choices too, they work very well. A painting which caught my attention immediately.

Beautifully colour everywhere, a fine painting and what an idyllic spot.

Love the colours and diagonals in the composition Alan.

Fabulous view Alan.

What a view. I recognised it immediately as being your, Alan. Fabulous.

Superb Alan, Just where do you get those fab colours!

Those rich colours tell a tale of a hot summers day. This is a splendid painting.

Caught my eye immediately, Alan, because there's so much to enjoy in this wonderful painting. The elevation is striking, and so are the adventurous colours and sense of scale. The figures in the bay add to the overall impact of size and space. My eye went from the bright cliff to the beach and figures, then slowly explored further, only to find so much in every corner, without it being OTT. The yachts, birds, cottages and sky all contribute to this visual treat of a painting. Bri

Wonderful paint, alan, and great perspective. The boat and the two people add interest to painting and the twirling gulls too.

Fabulous composition and view Alan, I agree with Brian about the boat and figures giving scale to the cliffs, great work as always.

You’ve created a wonderful sense of height and distance here Alan. I also love the little figures with their boat, and the cottages high up which as you say must have a wonderful view, as do we!

Fabulous view indeed, Alan, fabulous painting, too! Gorgeous colours and perspective just right. Another cracker!

This one certainly stands out in the gallery Alan. Such good colour and light.

This has to be the best of your current sea/cove paintings Alan, that cliff face is fabulous!

Fabulous Alan, those figures and the cottages give it scale.

Thank you all so much, I'm glad you like it. I was pleased with it myself which rarely happens. I did spend 3 sessions on it and made numerous changes along the way. The cliffs were a problem to get right but I hope I eventually nailed it.

Love the strong composition and colours, Alan, and the viewpoint - a real feeling of height looking down at the cove.

Love everything about it Alan.

Born there, lived there for the first 30 years of my life, and can't remember the name of the cove......! I do remember that people have got themselves trapped there when the tide came in, though. Let me know if you ever meander over to the opposite end of the island, Alan, and I'll buy you a drink. And there aren't many people to whom I'd say that...... This painting is so very different from the usual that we tend to get - with their ultra-white cliffs (which of course they're not): sort of glorified postcards, if one's being honest: some of them are very good, but there's a reality to this one which captures the mood of the place and not just the superficial elements.

Such beautiful colours, Alan, and a fantastic composition.

Well this is my best response for a while, I'm delighted and have enjoyed reading your positive comments. If I do get over again Robert, and I do hope so, rest assured that we will meet up and have a drink, that would be great.

Absolutely super, Alan. I have a fear of heights, and this made me want to step back from the edge. Great palette.

Great scene which has been enhanced by a great choice of colour palette Alan, and just enough detail leaving the viewer to add the rest.

Another winner Alan. Your palette is so distinctive and works so well. Your perception of colour is terrific.

Another eye catcher Alan. I can’t specify but it just grabs my attention as a whole

Excellent artwork by a creative and competent artist.

16 x 20in oil on board. This secluded cove can (or could) only be reached by boat. What a fabulous view those small cottages must have, high upon those cliff tops. Inspiration reference my sketchbook scribbles. Painted alla prima but over a few days and still wet.
