Quick but not messy, immediacy beautifully conveyed.

Quick, lively and good composition. I like the variety in what you do and enjoyed reading your article in the Artist newsletter.

If that's messy Alan it is the footballer

A very worthy addition to the seaside challenge Alan, a colourful, vibrant pen and wash painting.

It's the little additions in this I like a starfish.. Lobster pot. The anchor lying in a heap.

I love it for its energy and the confident way you have approached the challenge and the subject. You are indeed a man of talent!

Colourful And lovely Alan, very attractive painting.

A beautiful and vibrant seaside painting Alan. I love the high spots of colour and the free and loose pen work....but most of all I love the name, although she's bit broad in the beam for an 'Elfie'!

Thank you all for some very kind comments, I do love these &#39;quickies&#39;, no stress involved.<br />Fiona, this was named for a special person and reason, and she is a bit broad in the beam, I think...

So much to look at in it, a little cracker.

Love the energetic and loose pen work Alan - really good subject matter.

Can my &quot;Beached&quot; be included in the challenge? Haven&#39;t a chance though with super work like this up against it.

Like this Alan really conveys that fresh coastal feel lovely painting Alan

Great pen work and a good challenge.

Reminds me a bit of a Monet sketch of boats. It&#39;s the blue and yellow.

I paint every painting hoping for a &quot;mess&quot; like this, Alan! This is absolutely smashing - so vibrant, full of movement and beautiful lines. That lobster pot (?) is brilliant, it adds a quirky touch and contributes to the joie de vivre of the piece.

Usual quick and messy blast with brush and ink, followed by acrylic, 11 x15'' Fabriano.
