I just love the lush feel of this along with our palette.

Love the colours in your sky Alan, a real old world look painting, fabulous.

Atmospheric and full of interesting detail Alan.

I like the aged look about it as though it has had 100 years of tobacco smoke wafting around it.

Lovely painting, Alan beautiful soft colour tones then the rough & ready track leading in.

wonderful palette, wonderful subject and the paint is alive.....it looks as though the sky and foreground are moving. Fabulous Alan!

Great atmosphere. Looks like the barges at snape maltings, suffolk.

wonderful paiting and great palette, Alan.

Very interesting work Alan, a smashing painting.

There is something very calming and serene about this picture Alan, and it has an almost luminous quality.

Lovely contrast between the smooth soft sky and the strong sculptured foreground.

Almost a complete change for you Alan...like it lots.

Lovely and atmospheric Alan.

Such a warm feeling painting, wonderful job Alan.

Love your boating scenes Alan and this one is exceptional.

LOVELY PAINTING ALAN I ALMOST MISSED IT

That's a cracker Alan , a great composition and superb pallette

As always, a big thank you for your comments, I wasn't actually too pleased with this one and have dramatised the sky since which has improved it loads.

Magical atmosphere somehow, must be the colours, it's a damn fine piece.

I missed this one Alan because we were away that week. Now I've just seen your reworked version which is super. This is good but I can understand why you went back to it. You're possibly like me. I'm reasonably happy with some of my work and then, after seeing it online and looking again after a few days with 'fresh eyes', I feel the need to carry on. Your reworked painting just works. It has that added life and drama which was lacking in this one. Good for you..a perfectionist and a man with great talent :)

Oil on board 20 x 24in. continuing my nautical theme this scene has been painted from imagination with an idea for the boat house from an old Hilder painting.
