This is my rapid interpretation of the scene, it is not intended as an accurate representation, I have a camera for that.

It's wonderful Alan, so vibrant!

Certainly your own take on this well known scene Alan, super fiery sky.

Lots of drama in this one Alan, good work.

Wonderful painting, Dennis, the sky is superb and Venice is always a great subject for painters.

stunning colours Alan, a gem of painting and a wonderful representation.

Beautiful, and expressive, Alan. I love to see that such vibrancy can be achieved in watercolour.

Lovely vibrant painting

Incredible expressive interprtation Alan!

Fabulous colours Alan, love this painting :)

As always your sky is gorgeous and here the reflections repeat the colours beautifully. It is a magnificent place indeed and well worth painting over and over again. Greta work Alan.

I apologize, Alan, I called you with the name of the others two great painters of POL. Great painting as usual, Alan.

You're so adventurous with your colours Alan and it always works, you are an inspiration.

Thank you Val, and everyone else for your comments, as always, I will continue to push the boundaries, particularly with my bold use of colour, it nearly always pays off.

A beautiful glowing sky in this great painting Alan...love the composition.

It may be one of the most painted scenes in Europe, but precious few of us could have painted it like this. I take it you're still using those Pip Seymour watercolours, because I don't know who else makes a blue as astonishingly vibrant as this. I've not tried his watercolours, but have used his acrylics: and the colour there was intense - slightly too much so for the way I paint, but if you haven't used them you'd probably get on well with them. If anyone could handle their very powerful impact, you could.

Thank you Chandra, and yes Robert, I am still having a go with them, really enjoying these colours, so pure. May try the acrylics and oils at a later date.

I used to live near there. Funny how uncharacteristic the palette is to that region, yet you evoke something very intangible and real about that place. A testament to your ability to touch the very essence of the place and bring it to life. Excellent, excellent piece, Alan!

Well thank you Seok, tremendous comment from you which is appreciated.

Watercolour on Fabriano HP paper, 1/4 Imperial. Probably one of the most painted scenes in Europe, and i've painted it dozens of times, but I can never resist having another shot at it. Reference my sketch book.
