I’m sure it will be the start of a string of lessons Denise , enjoy the learning and I for one look forward to seeing what you do .
Thoughtful presents Denise! Lucky you! The life class sounds really good!! Belated birthday wishes from mexxx
I put this up on the gallery. What have I actually done here? Is it a work of art (of a sort) or is it just a sketch of a sad sort of face bombarded with left-over paint slashes and a bit of chin-stroking optimism awaiting inspiration.  Please tell me...
I don’t think any one else can tell you Jim. It’s your painting your choice.  Though the expression “just a sketch” I don’t hold with and thinking about it “ work of art”. I also don’t hold with.  I often find my sketching more thought through and considered than sitting in front of my easel with a pukka canvas on it.
Thanks Sylvia. Did anyone get time to check out Daniel Castan.?  I'm really impressed with some of his work.  It's all copyrighted so can't show it here. I'll try to post a link. This is called Blue Manhattan. https://www.carredartistes.com/en-fr/paintings-figurative-watercolor-urban-daniel-castan-blue-manhattan-p-2348.htm#mz-expanded-view-206475875378

I agree totally with Sylvia . I feel that sketching is as considered as starting that ‘masterpiece! I have many ‘sketches’ that I am very proud of!! Your piece of art is indeed what you want it to be
Well said Sylvia, & Gillian I spend more time sketching than I do ' serious drawing/painting 'some which might take only minutes are more pleasing than drawings that take hours...today's effort, 'the man at the next table '
I like the man at the next table Bari! Did you sketch that in the cafe? I have never plucked up courage to sketch in a cafe! Need to get over it and do it!
I sketch every were coffee and lunch stops especially always sit back to the wall if your not happy with an audience.  Most people are waving phones around so it's quite easy to get a quick snap. This one is from Mondays walk up the  river weaver one our warmest days...
Next time I am out and about Bari I will take a sketch book and try my hand in tea breaks! No sketching as still working on my mural . Almost there I think

Looking really good Gillian, love the falling petals..
That looks so good Gillan and the addition of the falling petals is inspirational, includes the whole wall without overwhelming it.
