Two pints of fish soup and a pack of prawn crackers please.
Enjoying seeing the different sketches, source for encouragement. Here is my bash for the day.
Stephen, I’m really enjoying your daily collection, you’ve really given yourself some work to produce these! Linda, your wonderful cats made me laugh this morning , always a good start to the day! What gave you the idea? And Gillian, you’ve sketched your succulent very well. My daughter has a bit of an obsession for indoor plants including succulents so this reminded me of her. 😊 I did this quick sketch late yesterday of my left handed fabric scissors. A few years ago I did a very part time job cutting and packing fabric orders, and when I left I asked if I could have the scissors, which they kindly agreed to.

Really good variety of excellent work on show and a good start to the month.  I have been trying out the oil pastels again, not sure that I will do a lot with them but they are nice to use for a change.I need a lot more practice .
I was in the middle of a long comment mentioning everyone’s work when it all disappeared.   Tessa , the idea came from a Victorian postcard, where the cats were dressed in a very fussy Victorian way.  I updated them with our gardening gear, so they have alter egos for hubby and me.  I’m wondering whether to give them a background now. Wonderful sketches every one!
I think a background would be good Linda, though no idea what!  Maybe some garden tools or a row of sunflowers? Not sure where that came from! Dixie that’s a lovely colourful kingfisher, don’t see many of those around.
I'm a total beginner, so my sketches are awful compared to all of yours, but here we go.
No such thing as awful Simon, we all have to start somewhere, you can relax and enjoy submitting your work here and learning from others. Love the cats Linda, great fun, and a lovely range of subject from succulents to scissors with a beautiful kingfisher and Stephens alphabet, such a lot of work in that! Nothing from me today yet.
I agree with Katy, it's all about practice so don't be disheartened Simon, just enjoy your drawing and painting. Anyway here is my bash for the day.
Hi Simon great to see you have joined us! Practice makes perfect so keep on having a go, remember we are own worse critic! I thought the pawn was really good. A great collection of subjects yet again. I just can’t get on with the oil pastels Paul, but think you re beginning to get more out of them! Just a quick sketch of some books today as I have been out most of the day!
Gillan someone on  the forum said they are best bended with a tiny bit of baby oil. As  I don’t have neither I use a small amount lubricating oil from my hair clippers as it’s very thin like my hair ,  on a cotton bud . Work ok I think I won’t do a lot with them but will give it a go every now and then. I also did a pastel painting something haven’t done in years , but that’s to put on the forum tomorrow.
Good to see you have joined in Simon. Stephen, your alphabet sketches are going well. Lovely colourful sketch Paul. Scissors Tessa are very good as are the books Gillian. I've done a quick doodle, Paul, that is funny about your hair clippers.
