Good sketch Ron, and well done Gillian for starting the challenge.
Today’s is a quick charcoal pencil sketch of sunflowers going to seed, just before the rain came.
Some lovely ideas and drawings going on folks. I’ve been in London for a few days visiting new grandson Teddy and this is my first attempt at sketching him snoozing. Not very happy with it, I’ve never been good at drawing babies or children for that matter, but maybe now I’ll get more practice!

Fab start to the August challenge Gillian, I haven’t started mine yet, better get cracking! Sunflowers going to seed reminds me that autumn is not too far away sadly. Tessa your grandson looks delightful, they’re such a joy.  Mines a “pick up and put down” sketch of the beginnings of a tiger
There has been some excellent work over the past week, and very varied too. I’ve not done any sketching for a few days and seem not to be able to get motivated to do one. I do feel guilty for not posting, more cross with myself for not doing it, thought I would add this a4 watercolour that I started last evening, and have just done a bit of the brick work on the bridge today, quite enjoyed the monotony of doing the bricks.
Impressive detail on those bricks Paul, a steady hand and good eyesight needed! Teddy looks lovely Tessa, hope you had a good visit. Shall watch the tiger develop with interest Hilary. Mine is a casualty of pruning, a snapdragon in ink.
Thank you Gillian and Katy. My journey up to London was really good, but a very slow drive back yesterday. Someone remind me never to choose a Friday afternoon to drive through London again! That early stage tiger is intriguing, also Dixies barge, and another lovely flower Katy- gorgeous colour! Nothing from me today, unless I  find time later.

Beautiful little sketch there, Tessa, and well worth that drive. Good start, Hillary. I agree, Dixie, bricks and stone work can be a bit of a pain, on times, you've done a grand job with them and the barges. A lovely vibrant botanical study of your freesia, Katy. Hope I got that right.

Love the barges and the brickwork Dixie.  More flowers today in coloured pencils and graphite.
Some lovely flowers from Katy and Hillary. I did enjoy doing the brick work on the barge painting, but got a bit lost with the background tree, I think it was because I started to loose interest and rushed the end, tut-tut I’ll never learn.
Barge and brickwork are great, but the foliage is a bit dominant. Perhaps you could sponge it out a bit? Greens are a nightmare! Mine is one eighth of the August challenge, Ozzy preparing to jump for the ball.
Super dog Katy, and the pose is caught really well. Dixie, you’re making me want to paint boats! Will have to drag out some photos and see what I can do. And Hilary, lovely delicate flowers and the base is simple but nicely done. This is a sketch of some fields waiting for harvesting near us, drawn today from the car, maybe for a painting at some stage.
