Oh dear Gillian, how rude! What is it they say about working with animals and children? Mine is an acrylic sketch inspired by my walk with the dog this morning. The background was put on yesterday because I tried to squeeze the last of my hookers green out of the tube, and there was more than I thought so I smeared it on to a piece of card rather than try to put it back.

That’s the problem with painting pets they do what they want. Lovely painting Katy, the dragon fly is particularly good.
You mentioned about needing a steady hand whilst painting bricks etc Katy , I have anything but a steady hand.
A few years back a made a small pad from an old pillow case it about 3+5 inch it brilliant for close work and to rest on.

Some super work again from all, and I also like Dixie’s little pad, what a clever idea. I also don’t have a very steady hand, sometimes worse than others, reckon you could market that!
Honestly I’m not copying but this is from a model train which belonged to my brother Who had quite a large collection of model railway stuff.

Fantastic trains, Dixie & Tessa. Katy, your nature study is really good, particularly the shades of green in the grass. Gillian, I find seaweed a hard thing to get right. It’s so uniform in shape and colour.
Today is sunny so out in the garden for my sketch. I’ve been eyeing up the numerous Agaves in the ‘Mexican’ garden and the odd one or two have flowered earlier. When you sit and look at them for a while you start to see a host of colours other than green.

Great start on the train Dixie, enjoy seeing it take shape. Great idea on the pad too this might help with my arthritic hands. Lovely fresh look to your painting Katy the dragonfly is fab. I remember these plants in Turkey Ron they are amazing but lethal if you got to close very prickly. Mine a mess around with some ivy leaves and negative painting. I’m off to Wales on Sunday with my grandchildren so may not have time to check in or post but I’m hoping for some lovely views to sketch and paint.
