Thanks, Tessa, like many of us, I too have been in the doldrums, when it comes to producing art work. Sunflowers are a lovely bright subject to delve into, and I agree with you, Tessa, the one on the left is lovely, good or bad we must keep painting and posting, I'll post some of my arty ramblings, not a pretty sight but helped
to keep me going, so good to have something to think about other than work, and this virus.
Goodness me, Gillian, I don't know how you cope in that sort of heat, no wonder you don't have the notion to paint. Hope things get cooler for you, soon.
Sending, Ron, a huge dose of sunshine.
Your stone painting is very nice, I like the splash of colour beneath them.
I can't wait to delve into the world of 'art shop' at the moment I feel its too soon to venture into the city, so order on line, I've made a little stone seat for the delivery man to leave the packages.

Well Ron, if we send you some of our heat now may we have it back in January please🤣 thinking of you Gillian too. Love the sunflowers Tessa. The ones in my garden might make an interesting sketch as fthey are nearly over for now, but more buds to come hopefully. Mine is a very quick plein air sketch of an Agapanthus in a pot. There are five in there but it was too hot so I simplified it massively.

Lovely plant there Katy, and the rocks are a really nice texture and subject to sketch as a study ( something I should have a go at along some trees for different bark patterns). Love your calligraphy CJ so intricate l would never manage that as too much of a tremor!
The heat is in mid 40’s now but we are hoping for a further drop in the next few days as unbearable once past 12 ish at the moment! Today here is an old door Sketched in graphite pencil as my offering!

Nice bit of sketching there, Gillian, and it does have that sun-bleached look to it.
I do hope you have those promised cooler days ahead.
Thankyou for your lovely comments, Katy, Dixie and Gillian.
I look at the master calligraphers on youtube, and the people who produce the Arabic calligraphic text is beautiful.
The work the monks produced is exceptional and the ' little things' in the margins are a delight to look at, looking at some of the grotesques the artists produced they certainly had a great sense of humour.
Little wonder they had a dimness of the eyes working in poor light over a lifetime of producing the manuscripts.

I cant imagine how you cope in those temperatures Gillian, its bad enough here. Old wooden items have such a great look to it. Great agapanthus Katy, mine are past their best now but hope for more blooms soon. Your calligraphy is fab CJ such an exacting skill. Loved the peas on your other post. Nice tonal rocks Ron, sending you some sunshine, we’ve got a surplus of it here! Nothing from me today as working on a larger piece on the gallery.

Thanks, Hilary. It can be exacting, especially when a piece is neatly lined, off I go hoping all will go right, and then ink-in an O where I've pencilled in for a space,
this then becomes 'another' practice page.
Last night we had a thunder storm, the rain came down in rods, marvellous display, and a lot cooler today. Hope everyone's pets are ok this morning.
