Tessa, the secret is to marry an ex forces man and make a hash of ironing in the early days, job done! Not allowed any where near his shirts 🤣.
Like the trees Paul, looking forward to seeing the finished painting. Hilary, I think your seaside scenes are really good, it’s too easy to paint an idyllic colourful sky and sea.
I think we should carry on for September. I will be offline for a fortnight (probably) but hopefully have a lot of sketches to post when I get home.

Thanks for the offer Tessa, I was taught how to press trousers and iron shirts when I joined up, and have done them since then.
Bit odd but I find ironing quite relaxing, probably because it’s fairly mindless, bet that cause a comment or two, I do all the ironing. Mind you like most modern men I love to cook as well, sound like I’m advertising. Keeping going is fine with me its been a long and odd road since January, and a very different world, better start thinking of things I have not painted or sketched.

Yes Tessa! I was thinking I would set up the sketch a day for September tomorrow as I would quite miss it if it ground to a halt as it gives me encouragement to be creative everyday. Also love being in contact with like minded lovely people. Like the overcast beach scene Hilary. Funnily my quick charcoal sketch is a moody charcoal seascape from my imagination, not great but it’s more a matter of trying charcoal and getting used to the mess! Lovely trees Paul can see you have a love for them!

Gillian I think moody is good in art (maybe not always!) and you’re certainly going well with the charcoal. Actually I think that’s one of the aspects of this that I enjoy, seeing other people trying different mediums and different styles, makes me think maybe I’ll have a go at that! And as you say, the daily chat, especially now.
This is another doodle sketch which started with pencil, then watercolour, and eventually Fude pen which has a nib that makes different width marks, fun to use.
