Nice sketch Tessa and a really nice sky Hillary. I’m finding it hard to get motivated and when I start drawing or painting it seems to not work out . Started three sketches today and the 🗑 them, this was my fourth and last for today it’s to hot for me. A steam drifter drawn in pencil with a light Payne’s grey wash . Taken from a very old black and white photo, I eventually want to do a watercolour of this boat heading out to sea.

Lovely work, everyone.
I haven't soaked a piece of paper for years, I'll be trying this, Hilary. Did you tape it to a board before starting your painting?
Are you going to tint your flowers Tessa? They're looking good.
Your steamer has a 'sea misty' look to it Dixie, nice work.
Someone left a basket of garden peas by the door, yesterday, so, I started a watercolour of some of them this evening, will pop them in when I finish them tomorrow, hopefully.

Got a bit behind with sketch a day, love the owl Gillian. Great drawing of geraniums Tessa, we haven’t any this year with garden centres being closed and everything being a bit strange. I don’t miss the hanging baskets though with all the water they take. Still have about 20 odd pots though! Interested to here about the triple soak, Hilary. Must try that because that’s a great sky. I like the look of the boat Paul. Just remember in three months time we will be moaning about the cold and the damp, I keep reminding myself of that!

Hi Carol, good to see you posting again. I did put a splash of colour on the sketch but wasn’t too pleased with the result! I’ve had another go at my sunflowers trying to keep them loose and using inktense blocks as watercolour.. Think the one on the left is ok but not the other. Keep practising!

More super pictures guys, well done for keeping at it despite some of us finding it a little more taxing than usual! I have to say I have found it difficult to produce something over the past 24hrs, mostly because of the heat here in Spain. Today I have been busy so not able to get to my sketch pad but will get busy with it tomorrow!

The quality of the recent sketches has been fantastic and I’m starting to feel a bit guilty about not having submitted anything for a while. Maybe it’s the extremely wet weather (and chilly nights) here at the moment. So, if you have any of that heat to spare - send it my way. Managed to find a decent local art store yesterday for a few extra materials but most of mine are still in the Indian Ocean somewhere. Just need some time and inspiration now.
