Apologies for not posting or commenting much for a week or so due to a family bereavement. A friend kindly sent me these flowers today, so just had to paint them. I have been looking in most days if not joining in and there’s been a lot of lovely work and great variety as ever!
Again some excellent work folks. Hillary I have painted barges and narrow boats but not for a while. I’ve included this one today but it’s one I did some time ago, at the local canal. I’m not over keen on it , don’t know why but it’s not quite what I was aiming for.they are good to paint but feel a little odd to me due to the length and narrowness.
Tessa, condolences, lovely flowers.  Paul, thats great I see what you mean about the narrowness and length but a great painting. Mines a tree in pastels, i followed a study in the LP magazine for practice.
Thank you Hilary. Good tree study. Dixie I like your narrow boat and pub. Where is that? Looks familiar.
Nice tree Hillary. Tessa the barge painting is set  in Marswoth, Bucks about five miles from where I live , it on the Grand Union canal just where it splits for the Aylesbury arm. Lots of opportunity for sketching and painting, sadly the but has closed down is is looking very tatty.

Thank you Gillian. Sad times but new grandchild cheers us up!  Dixie, it’s not a place  I know then, but reminds me of a lovely area near my daughters place in East London, the Walthamstow Wetlands where you can walk along the canal side past loads of these boats, and one day I’ll get round to some painting there!
Sorry to here of your bereavement Tessa. You have done justice to the sunflowers you were sent. Like the tree sketch Hilary, you’ve handled all those greens well. Like the narrow boat outside the pub, Paul. I do wonder if you have a family connection to my husband as you’re from Bucks too, a distant cousin maybe, who knows?
Lovely tree Hilary and the flowers are so cheery Tessa. Love narrow boats as they take you to ‘back In the day’ complete with ‘barge painting’ on the doors etc!  Little owl this evening!
Thank you Katy. x Your lovely owl has just popped up Gillian, must have been writing at same time!

Katy I’m originally from Yorkshire and my dad was from Cheshire but spent  most of my life living I’m many places coming from a military family the joining up myself. I only live here now as my last posting in the RAF was at High Wycombe in the 1980s.Still I do love Bucks as it is a great place to live, work and now retired play at painting etc.
Another flower from me today, one of my absolute favourites, Love-in-the-mist.
