A great charcoal sketch Ron. The finished painting, decided not to fiddle and put in any more detail.
Love the kookaburra Ron, it seems so exotic to be woken up by one!  Love the old train Paul, Good steam effect.
Like the kookaburra alarm clock Ron! Makes our dawn chorus seem a bit dull. Dixie your steam engine and buildings are lovely, even the steam. Mine today is just a page of doodles with pen and some watercolour.
Here’s an early sketch of my sun hat which is not likely to be needed today. It’s hammering down here and blowing a gale!
Very nice, Dixie. I like the effect you have created with the steam and smoke. Lovely doodles, Tessa. I’m sure the hat doesn’t need to be put away though, just given a rest. Your sun must be here at the moment, as we are having it sunny with the odd bit of cloud and around 20C. The temperature drops quite dramatically around tea time and it can be as low as 5 or 6 during the night. Been a busy bee again today so no sketch, but doesn’t stop me looking at all the other works.
Like the hat Tessa, this is my take on the weather today!
Morning Ron and Katy. Yes our dog has been given the same instructions- rest day today.!
Sorry there has been nothing from me for a couple days but the heat here in Castilléjar has been unbearable, the knock on effect is total inactivity! Well on my part at least! Today I have been clearing drawers and sorting paper work as moving back to Orkney in October but keeping my house here for holidays. Will try to get a sketch of some kind done this evening. There have been some great subjects over the past few days!
No wonder you are heading back to Orkney Gillian, that heat would be too much for me, but you do have homes in two lovely parts of the world, and both inspiring for drawing and painting. I’ve just been doing a few morning doodles in biro with my first cuppa, using the circles method.
I couldn’t stand that sort of heat either, Gillian, but good to have a holiday home for when you get fed up with the cold and wet🌧😊. Like the circle doodles Tessa, the cyclists is particularly good b my favourite is the horse. Mine is a current obsession with Chinese lanterns, doodled last night with a glass of wine and no reading glasses!
Some excellent work done. Gillian I would not like the heat at all, but it a drastic move you’ll be wearing thermals on a hot day in Orkney on a summers day until you get acclimatised. Hope all goes well with the move and you remain well. Today I was going through some old photos and came  across one of an old winch on Dungeness beach a very quick pen sketch and some colours. More of a doodle than anything serious, was fun and relaxing to do.

Great looking ‘doodles’, Tessa, Katy and Dixie. Been doodling myself this morning and just picked up a few different gum nuts around the garden as a subject. I sympathise with you Gillian. Normally we would have been moving back to our previous area in Safety Bay, just south of Perth, but remember how hot it can get in summer. Don’t enjoy Christmas in 40 odd degrees. So we are moving further south (in just under 2 weeks now) to Albany where it’s a bit cooler. Orkney must be a great place for inspiration. And as Billy Connolly used to say ...”it’s not cold, it’s just the wrong clothes”.
