Your Turner fest is in about five weeks time Alan . I’m looking forward to seeing what you have for us, I have set the whole week  for your use . I’m hoping to see some of his lesser known work , what ever I know it will be excellent given all the research etc that you have done. I’m also interested to see what Michael makes of  it and will he become a fan , ooh the suspense ( sorry I don’t get out much).
I’m looking forward to selecting some of his lesser known paintings, we’re all familiar with his highly commercialised works. First up I’ll be looking at his sketch book watercolours which are my favourites. Followed by some lesser known oils, probably his looser style works if I can find some suitable candidates, far more difficult than selecting from his watercolours. I like a challenge!
Like the idea of the watercolour sketch books .
Paul, the first one you chose was by Rubens - Louise Balaam had posted it on her Facebook which is why it was linked to her name.   Will you let us know on Wednesday which artists are coming up next week?

Yes I will , better still I will post them tomorrow. Thank you for clarifying the painting mix up , you certainly are good a finding information etc, you would make  a great detective.

Not so sure about making a good detective - I’ve just been making use of the Google reverse image search which I’ve recently come across!
I knew it was an old master, but I just couldn’t identify which one… good job again Jenny!
I did enjoy seeing the work of Michael Morgan. I also like Louise Balaam whose work I have seen several times at the Mall Galleries, and Moria Huntley both of whom are on your list for future weeks, so looking forward to those.  I have had family visiting for the last week so haven’t had time to comment here but have been sneaking quick peeps!
As I result of my mistake and showing a Rubén’s painting I will add him to the list. Would anyone like to do the introduction I don’t know enough about his work and it so much better having different people contributing. . Next weeks artists are Kandinsky suggested by Michael and David Roberts suggested by Linda , I will start the thread on Sunday evening as normal.
I'm currently away and don't return until late next Saturday so might be struggling to do Kandinsky intro on Sunday - would Linda care to do David Roberts on Sunday and I'll do K on Wednesday.
Whilst I open the thread on the Sunday evening Michale you don’t need to add anything till the Monday . I only start it on the Sunday so that it’s there first thing Monday as I know some of you good people look in in early morning.  If Linda wants to go first that not a problem I will just reverse the names when I open the thread .  Hope your enjoying your time away and the weather  is good.
Here’s a couple of watercolours from LB, presumably her plein air sketches… she used a variety of medium for these rapid drawings including charcoal. I’ll give Rubén’s a go if nobody else wants him! But I’ll happily pass it over…
