The one with the staff around the table is called Tea Break, I thinks it’s excellent and shows parts or the household that would normally be missed out .  I know some of his work is very Victorian Narrative and isn’t  to modern taste , but his skill is the reason I picked him for the thread and I think that is not in doubt . A lot of the painters in the mid eighteen hundreds and through to the early part of the nineteenth hundreds produced some highly skilled paintings , that unfortunately due to being out of vogue get over looked or simply dismissed. The discussion between mainly Alan and Robert regarding the deterioration of one of the paintings has been fascinating and fir me as a non oil painter very enlightening , thanks gents. You quite right Silvia they are a history lesson , schools should be encouraged to use such resources in history lesson etc.
That’s a very good idea Dixie- kill two birds with one stone, a little art education without the kids realising it.
Another good week I will  start the new thread off on Sunday evening Sylvia will be introducing Vincent Van Gough and Michael will follow on Wednesday with Kandinsky. I will post this weekends bonus artist within the next hour or so hope you all have a good weekend.
