I've been taking a look at Constable, since you mentioned the artist was influenced by him. I can definitely see some relationship. I came across a landscape study, Figures by a Clump of Trees, I wondered if this may have been the picture, she gained some inspiration for the, Sharp Sunlight, painting.
I’d definitely say so, almost exact composition but with obviously a totally different style.
Duplicated!

I thought I could see it, I don't get the wow factor, when I look at Constable's painting but Sharp Sunlight, as soon as I looked at it, I thought, wow, utterly fantastic a brilliant piece of work.
I find Constable’s quick oil sketches far more interesting and exciting than some (not all) of his highly polished landscapes! You can see the influence Turner had over some of Louise Balaam’s work! Rainstorm over the Sea

So who is going to suggest Constable and do the intro, I will add him to the list and await some very nice person to accept the lead .
Well I will volunteer Paul, but if somebody else wants him I’ll step down… I’d probably look at his oil sketches rather than his more ‘finished’ work! I wouldn’t be discussing The Haywain, I can guarantee that!
That’s great Alan , I think it would be really good to look at his oil sketch’s and not the commonly known work.  That’s why in looking forward to your Turner fest  be so nice to see something different from both artists especially Turner with your knowledge of him.
Looks like I’m hooked then… Constable it is!
Alan, I saw a really interesting programme recently from the V&A looking at Constable’s collaboration with a young engraver, David Lucas, to produce a series of mezzotint engravings of his paintings. Thought you might also like to touch on this probably less well known side of his work?

You can see the obvious influence of Turner, I think. That is one of my favourite Turner paintings. There is a good collection of Turner paintings at the Walkers, I love looking at them, when I'm there. I love looking at everything there in fact.
Unfortunately I didn’t see that programme Jenny, but I am familiar with his collaboration with David Lucas, and some excellent examples are at the V&A and online, here’s one I particularly like. If you would like Constable Jenny, I’m more than happy to relinquish him… I’ve got quite a few to introduce already!
