Oh - it's lovely. Such a lovely design. It reminds me of a fairy tale setting in a woods. Utterly charming and will make a delightful card.

And Merry Christmas to you too, even though we're not quite there yet (I wish we were! Lots of time to do whatever one likes, and no wretched meetings to go to...) I find certainly that gouache or acrylic are good for correcting watercolour in small quantities, but recommend you try Chromacolour Titanium White (not their Chroma White - very opaque) for a soft, ready-flowing white that doesn't intrude by glaring out of the painting. Not that this needs any improvement at all.

What a lovely card, and thank you for the Christmas wishes.

Beautiful painting, lovely palette! Merry Christmas

Thanks, all, for your kind and helpful comments. Thea, studying your painting, the beautiful colour contrast makes your paintings so fresh and delightful. On the contrary, this painting has enough fussiness to make it dissatisfying. I think that I need to work on tonal values and the medium charateristics. Robert, I did use some sort of white stuff to correct the birds, particularly the front one on the left side. The white stuff was taken from one of the elements of a cheap water colour pan. This is just to show how lackadaisical I am. I am really trying to do a better job now by practising and through acquisition of knowledge. I did a bit of internet research on all the gouache white and bought a tube of Da Vinci Artists' Gouache, Titanium White. Is this the correct one? Thanks again.

Merry xmas to you and what a great card!!!

How beautiful and inventive. Like Stephen says, magical. Thank you.

The card you look for and never find, its beautiful ,have a wonderful Christmas.

This is a lovely painting.I like the subtle colour and atmospheric mood.Yes,it is quite magical.

Thank you for all the kind and helpful comments. The painting itself is slightly different than is reflected in this photograph. The photograph has a slight blue-gray tint to it, perhaps because of the filter used to take the picture.

This is my favourite of the three. It reminds me of a medieval fresco. Lovely.

Great one Ping! And good to see your new postings! Love the colors and the theme.

This is a new experience, trying out a watercolour with birds as a greeting card. I made a few mistakes and have since learned that white gouache or acrylic can be used to correct them. Although this is not completely to my satisfaction, I want to post this now on this site to thank all the members who have shared their works and comments with me and wish you all a Merry Christmas.
