Great - has the feel of a Gainsborough about it. The barrier formed by the figures and bench keep the eyes fixed on the lower half of the paining and then you notice the fabulous landscape behind.

Last year I had the opportunity to participate in a project researching homelessness in Canada. I was surprised at how many people are living in this relatively affluent country with literarily no roof over their head. The reasons are many and the consequences depressingly similar: ill health, mental illness, depression, suicide. Encouragingly, there are some hopeful indicators that society is beginning to recognize and respond to this humanitarian crisis in helpful ways.
