Living Rough
Last year I had the opportunity to participate in a project researching homelessness in Canada. I was surprised at how many people are living in this relatively affluent country with literarily no roof over their head. The reasons are many and the consequences depressingly similar: ill health, mental illness, depression, suicide. Encouragingly, there are some hopeful indicators that society is beginning to recognize and respond to this humanitarian crisis in helpful ways.
