This is absolutely stunning Wib. I don't know where to look first. The sky is so dramatic and the highlights on the buildings are wonderful. The reflections are glorious - a feast of imagery!

Do they have those skies there? Very dramatic Picture Wib.

remarkable, love it

This is an amazing picture, and reminds me of El Greco's painting style. Very dynamic and moody.

This is an amazing and spectacular piece, Wib - full of dramatic light that moves the eye around the painting. The detail is so well observed and executed.

Stunning Wib, the sky is amazing, the fine detail then that sea with wonderful reflections.

Wow....full of drama and atmosphere, love the colours in the sky

You've injected mystery and drama into this piece Wib, it's magnificent! I would love to be the only one walking through the narrow streets and alley ways to soak up it's 10th century history. On my visit there, it was almost impossible to stop and look, I was carried along by the tide of people!lol

Thanks folks, I truly appreciate your taking the time to comment.

Wow this is fantastic Wib, the wonderful colours in the sea and sky really compliment the island, I absolutely love the detail in this painting.

Thank you, Margaret.

Mont Saint Michel is a city island in Lower Normandy and has become a wonderful example of the pyramidal nature of feudal society with God at the very top, then the abbey and monastery and then the great halls, stores and housing below that and at the bottom of the pyramid outside the walls were the fishermen and farmers housing. As a religious site its fortunes have varied over a millennium even serving for a period as a jail. It became a French Historical Monument in 1862 and a UNESCO world heritage site in 1979.
