Queen Anne’s Lace is frequently considered a rather invasive weed here in Ontario that seemingly can take over a patch of ground in double time. Throughout most of the season it looks pretty nondescript but come fall it forms this exquisitely structured seedpod with little florets on top which, when the light catches them at a certain angle, sparkle like diamonds. In this painting I've tried using an abundance of saturated colour to convey the exquisite beauty of this flower's architecture.
