Lovely cool shades. Gorgeous scene. I like the cobbles and the clouds.

Thank you, Yvan.

Lovely work and moving comments, perhaps the bright sunlit building on the left is a sign of better times ahead.

Brilliantly done Wib, love the colour selection. Love the sentiment.. Humans by nature are migratory, and for whatever reason have always tried to find a better place for their family by paternal instinct, and you've portrayed this wonderfully.

Thank you Stephen and Andre - I do appreciate your comments!

Lovely perspective in this Wib, very nice indeed.

I still can't get over those lilac hues. Breath taking and inspiring.

Thank you , Margaret and thank you, again, Yvan - I was looking for something that would bring a sense of overall coherence and thought the light purple (lilac) hue worked best as a type of wash.

Geopolitical conflicts, famines, natural disasters all contribute unfortunately to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children the world over. The suffering and inhuman treatment that untold refugees endure is beyond imagining. This painting is of a family of refugees fleeing through the abandoned streets of their hometown to what they hope will be a safer place.
