It is really beautifull.

Outstanding Val. I love it!

Wonderful result Val, so pleased to see your lovely paintings back again.

I can't stop myself coming back to the gallery and looking at this. It is something special and extraordinary.

IMHO it deserves to be submitted to the RA Summer Exhibition for 2026.

Beautiful atmospheric, love the colours!

Beautiful colours and blending Val.

Stunning and what an interesting base.

Wow those colours just exploded , it’s a superb piece so vibrant the colours are beautiful.

This is excellent Val.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments.

Fabulous work!

Wow! thank you Alan and Maureen as well. Makes me want to get cracking on the next one. I have prepared 2 more boards and am thinking on the next idea. Its usually spontaneous so maybe put some colour down and see what comes to mind.

This jumped off the gallery page! Wonderful colours.

This looks like you really enjoyed painting it Val Irene, get cracking on those other boards!

I have been looking at last year's RA summer exhibition prize winners. Here is an example. https://fadmagazine.com/2025/07/07/the-royal-academy-has-revealed-the-summer-exhibition-2025-prize-winners/#gid=1&pid=3 Maybe I just don't understand 'modern art' but to my eyes this is far better than most of the other prize winning paintings.

Thank you Brian. That is so complimentary of you to compare my work to the RA.

Magnificent painting and yes there is a lot of Turner coming through.

Thank you Tim. I have been influenced by Turner all my life. Can't help it.

Beautifully painted Val Irene.

Full of mystery Val Irene and great merging of colour. Good luck with your entry. I’m sure you will do well.

Cant resist it. Have found a new base for oils using polyfilla ! instead of canvas. Paints blended beautifully. I am liking it.
