I love this Martin. It works really well and you have captured that hint of autumn.

A fabulous whisper!

What a wonderful title. Love the way you painted the foliage

Wonderful Whisper!

Lovely painting and yes, lovely title.

Nice job Martin. I know how tricky it is to get the flow of the colour with the right amount of water to create those soft muted values. I'm rubbish at Watercolours, but you appear to have it going on. Cheers, Peter

Those birch tree’s look very fragile to cope with what’s coming! It’s a great painting Martin, love the greens. The beech here are starting turn copper and the birch leaves are already falling….yikes.

Thank you David Heather Coral Diana Linda Marjorie Peter and Fiona. Much appreciated. It won’t be long before we’re knee deep in leaves again

I'm using Fude pens too - not necessarily as successfully as this, but - we keep trying.

Thanks very much Spencer and Robert. I enjoy trying a new medium or tool. Sometimes it works well from the off and others not so. I think if it was all easy I’d give up as there would be no challenge

A lovely watercolour where you've managed to keep the balance just right -I know how quickly watercolours can become overworked ! You've kept a nice delicate touch Martin.

Terrific work, Martin makes a lovely painting.

Thanks for your kind comments Hilary and Willie

Thanks very much Richard

Last Tuesday I planned to sketch outside at Hatfield Moors but it was absolutely siling it down so I worked from the car. I liked the gloom under the trees and where the track disappeared. That coupled with the contrasting silver birches gave me something to work on. I noticed a hint of autumn on the tips of some leaves. I used Fude pen again with carbon ink on Rough Canson Moulin de Roy Watercolour paper 40x30cm. Added watercolour washes in studio
