What a clever idea and great imagination really well executed

Brilliant idea, nicely painted.

Not sure what I think about auras, but it certainly makes an interesting painting.

I should add that I’m not religious nor believe in ghosts or spirits. It’s just a feeling that you can occasionally sense something that you can’t necessarily see feel smell hear or taste

Thanks Heather Stephen and Lee. Appreciate your comments

Sorry Lew. That’s predictive text again!!!

Good thinking and painting Martin. They say a walk in a park or woods gives us a lift when we feel down so yes I would say we connect with nature.

I like how you have described your narrative Martin. The auras radiating outwards make the connection tangible. It reminds me of another of your recent posting with the rings and marks within a branch. Like yourself I’m not religious or spiritual but I feel the earth, if that makes sense. I’m aware of nature, all living things really, except perhaps people! Avoid those where possible…..😂

Auras aside, I just admire the skill in this! However, there is a meaningfulness too, I certainly feel that if we only look, see and hear what is around us, it enriches us. Just this morning my husband and I were talking about this, how people shut themselves off from “ nature” by using earphones, checking phones etc. Maybe we appreciate the sensory world more because we are older….

Thanks for your interesting comments Carole Fiona and Marjorie. You have understood my aim about connecting with nature. Maybe it is because we are older though I have always loved and felt at home outdoors

I like this a lot Martin. Scientists at Kew have developed a device that allows one to “listen” to trees, it picks up the sound of water traveling up inside a tree.

Thanks John. Interesting. We know trees communicate with each other along subterranean fungal threads.

I enjoy walking and the connection with the natural world, and I like the way you've visualised this idea. I also like the way you keep experimenting with different ideas -your work is always interesting.

Wonderful design and composition. It's interesting for me to see acrylics watered down similar to watercolor. I have not painted with acrylics. Love the connections. The imagination. The careful choice of values. Thank heavens for the doggies!

Thank you so much for your very generous comments Hilary. I like to try expressing new things and experimenting. It keeps me motivated.

Thanks very much Lynne. Very kind. The warmer colours in this painting are acrylic ink which is really easy to thin as it’s already liquid but you can do that with ordinary acrylics too. The medium is quite forgiving but does dry very quickly

We all know the five senses but are sometimes aware of something else that connects us. I think all living things have an aura and this image of an everyday activity- lady walking the dogs towards odd trees on a misty morning- is an attempt to visualise the connection of those auras.
