Superb atmospheric painting.

That is so good, Martin! Just love how that moody sky contrasts with the remainder of the painting and the water and water edges are so well painted! I looked behind me to see the Roe Deer!!

A stunner Martin. The muted colour adds to the atmosphere perfectly.

Thanks Stephen Thanks David S. I’m glad you found the roe deer. Ha Thanks David P. I only used 8 colours plus black and white. I think it sometimes helps to make a painting more cohesive Thanks Fiona Karen David W and Tanja for your lovely comments

A fantastic, moody sky over the still water and grassland. A great painting.

Used Fude pen En plein air and watercolour indoors. Lakes at Hatfield Moors separated by narrow bunds disappearing into the distance. It was a cold dark and moody day but I saw couple of Roe Deer in the trees only 20 yards away which was magical. They unfortunately also saw me and after staring at each other for 3 seconds in an ET moment and before I could reach my phone to photograph them they had gone. So you can only see them just behind you in the painting. 16x12” Saunders Waterford Watercolour block
