The colours give a nice glow to this Martin.

Great use of the limited palette.

Love your limited palette Martin. Very impressive.

The colours really are very good and make for a smashing painting

Excellent work Martin.

You might find it strange but the part I like best is the soft distant trees.

Thanks very much David Dixie Jennifer Lewis Carole Heather Spencer Stephen Marjorie. Not strange at all Marjorie it’s the least overdone bit

Works very well Martin, has a nice ‘restrained’ feel, which suits the subject.

Thanks for your input Stephen. Much appreciated

A glowing painting of calm serenity. Yes, values harmonize beautifully.

Local bridge over the Idle near Haxey. Sketched in pencil en plein air and completed in studio using only 3 colours after reading an article by Peter Cronin on POL. Ultramarine Deep, Pyrol Orange and Quidrinachrome Gold. Experimented so it’s not perfect but I think the colours harmonise Watercolour on Arches cp 12x16”
