Martin in play-mode! Nothing like it when a painting just won't work, so make a game of it, bung in a diplodocus or two (we're not supposed to call them that now, apparently, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mind that one way or the other).

A bit of nonsense that started out as a plein air sketch of wildfowl by the lake. I faffed about with very wet in wet for a while, added more washes until the thing got muddy, scratched out and added more pen and ink. I realised it was rhubarb so let the dinosaurs in my brain escape and they landed in the painting. Of course it’s an impossible image as Clumber Lake is man made etc etc. That’s the fun of art eh?
