Biography
I had a 'dabble' with pastels about 30 years ago but didn't really take it up until 18 months ago. I've been learning a lot since and doing paintings from my own photographs. I love the immediacy that pastel gives and the creation of art, however it turns out, switches off from the day-to-day stuff. I just do this for my own amusement and well being. I also have recently started using watercolour as well, mainly pen and wash, although I find the control of brushes quite tricky. Materials used are a combination of Koh-I-Noor, Rembrandt and Jacksons soft pastels, along with pencils from Koh-I-Noor, Faber-Castell and Carbothello. Paper is usually Canson-Mi Teintes touch although I have recently been trying out the Stifflex brand of papers.
